W.C. Handy, born in Florence, AL in 1873 is known as "The Father of the Blues". The museum presents interesting historical facts and articles belonging to W.C. Handy. The first song recorded by W.C. Handy became known as "The Memphis Blues" and was played all of the country and universe. The knowledgeable staff can give you the history behind the rise of W.C.
