Slave Haven Museum

Slave Haven, also known as The Burkle Estate, was a part of the Underground Railroad that helped runaway slaves escape as they sought freedom from slavery. The museum is staffed with knowledgeable individuals who can relate the story of the Underground Railroad and provide documents and artifacts handed down over the years. Climb down into the cellar and see the trap door that was used.

W. C. Handy Museum

W.C. Handy is "The Father of the Blues." The museum presents interesting historical facts and articles. The first song recorded by W.C. Handy became known as "The Memphis Blues" and was played all of the country and universe. The knowledgeable staff can give you the history and culture behind the rise of W.C. Handy as the famous Blues Man of Memphis. This is a must see!
